ART OF THE TITLE 2 : AMERICAN PSYCHO

It started with blood, dropping slowly in a white background, this makes the blood stands out in a short period of time and make the audience have a sinister feel. As the pace of blood is dropping faster, the music start to goes faster. There was a sharp trill every time the blood fells. The texture of music has been built up. The title sequence is then introduced when the blood hit the ground and formed a splash pattern.

After seeing the blood dripping, when the audience saw something in red again, we will think it is blood again. However, it was a ketchup instead. People are decorating the dish with ketchup.

A knife is then raised high and hardly chopped a meat. From this scene, it gives a tension feeling to the audience, as they can relate the meat to a human. 

This title sequence uses a lot of hard cut and the director made it playful to watch. This gives a hint to the audience that it is simulating a murderer murdering a man, and therefore create horrified feeling to the audience without actually showing a corpse. 

This piece used extreme close up and close up quite a lot in order to guide the audience to think something similar. However, only with the distance of the camera and items would not make a impact like this. With the editing techniques and the shot angles, it creates a short impression to our brain then allows the audience to notice what it actually is.

I have learnt how the camera movements and editing can cooperate together to get different repercussion to the audience and also how we can insinuate things use similar shape and same colour.
